About the Job:
Gather requirements, create design documents, and to script/storyboard instructional material. Depending on the specific needs of the project, this individual will design individual assets, courses, and/or programs for corporate clients. The Learning Designer will also contribute to internal projects that further the development and skills of the team.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop instructional strategies and design learning solutions. This would involve, but not be limited to:
- Assessing client needs and collaborating with clients and client stakeholders
- Determining instructional strategies for meeting client learning objectives/expected learning outcomes, including choosing the best instructional approaches and delivery modes
- Determining and designing assessment strategies and identifying and describing needed learning components/assets
- Creating detailed design documents/learning plans and outlines which synthesize all learning requirements
- Execute on those designs and requirements. Write educational content for individual assets, courses, and/or programs. This would include, but not be limited to:
- Lessons/modules, especially for online courses
- Assessments, including designing and validating tests
- Video/animation design, including writing scripts and storyboards for media assets
- Role-base simulations, including writing scripts and storyboards for simulations
- Other interactives assets, from short reinforcement instructional exercises to gamification
- Mentor junior instructional designers and model best practices for learning design team
- Work with project managers and interface with developers and media team
- Document instructional strategies and processes
- Apply all skills described above to client learning and development projects
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a learning designer for corporate clients
- Outstanding writing skills and solid oral communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate with remote teams
- Critical thinker and creative problem solver
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office suite
- Well-informed, innovative and proactive
- Passionate about learning design and educational technology
- Availability during regular business hours (9am-5pm) for meetings
Desired skills:
- Familiarity with Software/ applications such Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe eLearning Suite.
- Strong visual design skills are a plus, but not required.
- Prior experience working on the vendor side is strongly preferred.
